Yan Yean Road Upgrade & Community Drop-In Session

For those who regularly drive Yan Yean Road, you will have noticed the workers. According to Vicroads, the works will be done in two stages, totalling $131.2 million. The first stage will be from Kurrak Road, to Diamond Creek Road. The upgrade will involve both directions being increased to two lanes, traffic lights at Kurrak Road and River Avenue, a bus priority lane at Diamond Creek Road, lights to allow turning into the Nillumbik Council works depot and an allowance for long vehicles to U-turn. Although it will cause some pain as the works are in progress, once its completed it will make a massive difference to travel times. Sign up for updates on vicroads.vic.gov.au (search for Yan Yean). Vic roads are running an ‘Upgrade Community Drop-In Session’ on Saturday 17 February between 9am and 11am with a breakfast BBQ at Plenty Hall, 103-107 Yan Yean Road, Plenty.
